Third Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) summit held on 4th march 2014 in Nay Pyi Taw , Myanmaar. The first two summit held in Bangkok(2004) and New Delhi (2008). The Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bhutan, the Prime Minister of the Republic of India, the President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, the Prime Minister of Nepal, the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and the Special Envoy of the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand participated in the Third BIMSTEC Summit Meeting. The salient features of the summit are as follows : Member countries Resolved to commit increased efforts in accomplishing the founding aims and purposes of BIMSTEC.
